Fridays with your iPod/iPhone – How to add a Microsoft Exchange account

April 22, 2010

Would you like to add your Microsoft Exchange account so you can sync your email, contacts, and calendars to your iPod/iPhone? In just a few short steps you can have immediate access to all of your important information.

1. Open the Settings application.

2. Select the Mail, Contacts, Calendar option

3. Select the Microsoft Exchange Server from the top of the options listed and then enter your email, username, and password (the same you use when logging onto your local network)

4. Entering a domain name is optional and it will not work at our office. Hit return and wait for the unit to authenticate you as a user, then you can enter the server name of your Microsoft Exchange server. If you are not sure what your server name is, contact your server administrator.

Quick tip: if you hold down .com, it will give you several options like .net, .edu, .org

5. Give the device some time to authenticate again and don’t be surprised if you find that you get a message regarding the certification of the server. Just click ok and get ready to sync all your important information by turning on all the items you wish to sync.
