Notes from the field…Huffman

May 6, 2010

Carrie Slayton and I had a great day in Huffman meeting with their technology and curriculum leaders. We shared some of our ideas on using Performance Indicators to Integrate Technology and then we brainstormed some ideas for writing Technology Enriched Performance Indicators (TEPIs)  based Marzano’s nine principles for classroom instruction that works. We discussed the possibility of getting several CSCOPE districts together to contribute to a repository of TEPI’s for collaborative members. If you think you may be interested in having this same discussion in your district, please give us a call. We would love to help!

I am also excited that we are having a year long series of workshops for technology integrators/specialists/coaches based on the book Using Technology with Classroom Instruction That Works based on these same nine Marzano principles. We will also have one of the co-authors, Matt Kuhn, to do a workshop at our Administrators Technology Conference on August 2-3. His topic will be Using Technology with Classroom Instruction that Works for Administrators.

Thanks so much to Huffman ISD for inviting us to present today! I look forward to beginning our collaborative efforts in enhancing performance indicators through technology integration.
